Jessica Harney-Lynk
Turkey Run School Board At-Large
Candidacy Announcement
My name is Jessica Harney-Lynk, and I am a candidate for the at-large position on the Turkey Run Community School Corporation School Board.
I am a graduate of Rockville Jr-Sr High School and a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society. I am the business manager of the Parke County Sentinel, which my family has owned since 1970.
I serve as a member and secretary of the Parke County Sheriff’s Office Merit Board. In addition, I am a community member of the Turkey Run Elementary InSAI Steering Team. I am president of the Bloomingdale Youth Association and a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
I am a past board member of the Parke County Community Foundation, where I served as secretary of the board, as well as chair and member of various committees within the Foundation. As a past president of the Parke County Chamber of Commerce, I was honored as Parke County Woman of the Year in 2002 for “outstanding service to Parke County and its citizens.” While on the Chamber board, I also served as secretary for two years, as well as chair of several committees. I am a past member of the Gamma Sigma Chapter of Tri Kappa where I served as treasurer for two years, assistant treasurer for two years, scholarship committee chair and Covered Bridge Festival bean shack chair. I was active in the Parke County Fair Queen Pageant Committee, where I served as director of the pageant.
I reside in Bloomingdale with my husband, Gary, and our son Ben, a first grade student at Turkey Run Elementary.
I am running for the Turkey Run School Board because I have a vested interest in the future of the school corporation. I am proud that my child attends Turkey Run and want to see things move forward for the betterment of the school, staff and children. I am interested in the development of the whole child – intellectually, physically, emotionally and socially, and I believe Turkey Run is a great place for our children to be. I believe that support of the superintendent, other school board members, staff and children is a vital part of the success of the school corporation.
I ask for your support in the May 6th election and appreciate your time and consideration.
